Quan Su Pagoda located on Quan Su Street has long been famous as a sacred and pure temple. In addition, this is also the headquarters of the Vietnamese Buddhist Church, where many important events of the church take place. Quan Su Pagoda is also one of the very few temples in Vietnam where the name of the temple as well as many parallel sentences are written in the national language script.

Built during the reign of King Ly Nam De, Tran Quoc Pagoda was voted as one of the 16 most beautiful ancient temples in the world. The pagoda is located on the only island of West Lake on Thanh Nien Street.

In the past, Tran Quoc Pagoda was often a place for kings to visit and worship on full moon days and Tet holidays. 4. Lang Pagoda (Chùa Láng)

This is located on Chua Lang Street. This is also one of the temples with the largest number of worshiping statues in Hanoi and Vietnam, including 198 large and small statues, typically the statue of Ly Than Tong (1128-1138) sitting on the gold throne and the statue of Tu Dao Hanh woven with painted rattan outside. Tourists from all over the world flock here to smell the fragrant smoke and quietly enjoy the atmosphere.

The Pagoda has a three-door gate. They are large brick-paved path, an octagonal house, the main part of the pagoda, a bell house, a guest house, an ancestor-worshiping house, a mother-worshiping house and a garden of tomb towers. There are a couple of unique stone dragons on the two sides of the stairs leading to the forecourt. The stone stele erected in 1656 was carved with the image of two fairies with their wings spread.

The Buddha hall of Ha Pagoda is arranged in several layers. The highest class is the three phoenixes of the Three Worlds, which usually abide in the magical dharmakaya, representing the Buddha in the present, past and future tenses.

The famous Ha Pagoda in Hanoi is sacred to many pilgrims, for those who are single. After visiting Ha Pagoda, they soonly find their other half. Especially, there stand a lot of small mall selling offerings and rose flowers for visitors because roses are used for praying in here. When tourists want to pray for romantic wishes, they should pray only in Dien Mau. However, we highly recommend to pray in all sections of Ha Pagoda to wish full of luck, happiness, and prosperity.

6. Kim Lien Pagoda (Chùa Kim Liên)

Kim Lien Pagoda is located northeast of West Lake, in Nghi Tam village, Quang An ward, Tay Ho district, Hanoi. The temple has a royal architecture. The entire temple gate is made of wood, quite massive and elaborately carved. The patterns are carved on the truss, the top of the column, the top of the roof of the pagoda, mainly in the shape of tigers, leaves and lotus flowers, stylized dragons, floating clouds… This is an architectural style dating back to the 17th century and earlier popular only in Cochinchina. On New Year’s Day and New Year’s Eve, people come here to pray for peace and luck.
